The Old Mystic Inn was built in early 1784 when Mystic was noted for whaling, fishing and ship building. Formerly the old Mystic Book Shop, a local landmark specializing in antique books and maps, the Inn abounds in history. Many travelers have passed on the roads of old Mystic, occasionally stopping for a rest and repast at the house next door, which at one time was a tavern.
